The “Core Four” Game Reviews of Spy Alley
We lovingly call our family-quartet the Core Four. We believe a family that plays together, stays together — and is less prone to fist fights. Our game closet is overflowing and we’re here to share our favorite finds with you.
GAMER DAD — ★★★★
We really enjoy playing this game with the grandparents. Everyone is a spy, but who’s who? You have to purchase items specifically for your spy in front of everyone without them figuring out which spy you are. Easy to learn and a fairly quick play.
GAMER DAUGHTER 1 — ★★★★
Spy alley is a perfect game to play with Nana (AKA: Ms. Money Bags) & Papa (“TWO!”). It’s super simple and easy to learn.
GAMER DAUGHTER 2 — ★★★★
Spy alley is a fun game that is different every time. I like to be the Russian spy so I can speak in an accent while we play.
RELUCTANT GAMER MOM — ★★★
There is one thing I particularly love about it — it teaches kids how to lose. There is an option to guess the spy at multiple points in the game without repercussions and there have been times where one of the kids was guessed-out of the game within the first five minutes of play.
The immediate response, when booted in the first few minutes of the game, is, “Hey, no fair.” Unfortunately, Spy Alley and LIFE are randomly unfair, so it is a great learning opportunity. It is an opportunity to grab snacks or do to a quick chore, as you wait for a rematch!
All that being said, it is not my personal favorite. I’d rather play something else.
GAMER CAT — ★★★★★
Lots of pieces I can knock over when I jump onto the table.
